Indianapolis Patio Pros is a free referral service for homeowners in Indianapolis and nearby suburbs. Here's exactly what we do and don't do.
Step by step
- You send a request. Use the contact form. Tell us the type of project, your town or ZIP, and rough size.
- We review it. We check that it's a project type and area we can help with. If it isn't, we'll tell you.
- We share it with an independent contractor. With your consent, we send your contact details and project description to an independent local contractor who works in your area.
- The contractor contacts you. They'll typically reach out to schedule a site visit or ask follow-up questions, then give you an estimate.
- You decide. If you hire them, your contract, payment and warranty are directly with the contractor. You're free to get other quotes or hire no one.
What we do
- Publish local, sourced cost information so you can budget before you call anyone.
- Pass your request to an independent contractor we've reviewed for your project type and area.
- Follow up with you to see if you were contacted and how it went.
What we don't do
- We don't perform construction, landscaping or hardscaping work.
- We don't sign contracts for your project, collect payment for the work, or provide warranties.
- We don't pull permits. The contractor handles permits for your project.
- We don't charge homeowners anything.
How we're paid
Our service is free to homeowners. Participating contractors may pay us a referral or marketing fee. That fee never changes the price you're quoted, and you're never obligated to hire anyone.
How we review contractors
Before we refer a contractor, we review basic information. For example, we check whether they appear on the City of Indianapolis licensed-contractor list where applicable1, whether they have current proof of insurance, and what their public reviews say. A review isn't a guarantee. Please do your own homework too:
- Ask for proof of insurance and, inside Indianapolis, confirm their contractor listing.
- Get a detailed written contract. Indiana requires one for home-improvement work over $1502.
- Compare at least two quotes on the same written scope.
- Confirm who's responsible for permits and HOA approval.
